Ms. Gross has been the Department Administrator for the Nelson Institute Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment (SAGE) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since 2009.
Martina serves as primary administrator and assistant to the Research Center Director for Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment (SAGE). She supports a staff of 50 Faculty, Staff, Post Docs, Research Interns, Research Assistants, Project Assistants, LTE's and student hourlies, and administers all research activities (both pre- and post-award) using knowledge of federal agencies (e.g., NSF, NASA, NOAA, DOE) and University requirements for SAGE which has an annual funding level between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Along with grant administration, she manages all other business functions including administrative policies and procedures, human resources, and payroll; provides administrative support to the center director(s) to assure smooth operation of activities, with authority to act on behalf of the director.
Prior to working at the University, Martina earned a B.S. degree in Psychology and German Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and spent many years working in technical and procedural support, systems development and business communications in the corporate headquarters of a major retailer.
